Collective Waste Solutions is a privately-owned Alberta based company that offers a full suite of customized waste management services including collection, transportation, and recycling or disposal of all waste streams, both non-hazardous and hazardous, that meets the requirements of our customers’ waste solutions objectives.

Collective Waste was established in 2006 primarily providing waste management services to Oilfield operations in Northern Alberta. Since then, we have expanded our expertise to Commercial, Residential, Municipalities and businesses throughout Alberta backed by a fleet of over 100 trucks and nearly 150 employees. In 2018 our service crossed the border covering Oilfield operations in the Western Canada region.

Collective Waste offers a 24-hour service guarantee, calls that are answered by Alberta based local professionals, comprehensive waste reporting, and customized programs. As an Alberta COR certified organization, quality and safety are a cornerstone to Collective’s business practices and are paramount in all that we do.

We focus on developing reliable and cost-effective programs that meet the exact needs of customers and provide year-on-year cost savings. Our History

2006

Stony Mountain Waste Management Ltd. is established in Anzac, Alberta by Jim MacPherson and Shawn Daschuk. Stony’s first project is a waste management contract with the construction of the Shell Jackpine Mine site north of Fort McMurray.
2010

Stony Mountain Waste relocates operations to Conklin, Alberta with one roll off truck and 12 waste bins.
2014

Stony Mountain Waste sets up their corporate office in Calgary, Alberta. The office houses Finance, Administration, and a Sales team. The founders bring in two additional shareholders to enhance the management team and to allow for rapid expansion in the oilsands of Fort McMurray.
2017

Stony Mountain Waste welcomes two minority equity partners, one of which is ATB Capital, along with merging Construction Waste Disposal Inc. (CWD) and its ownership team into the operations of the business in Edmonton.
2017

Stony Mountain Waste expands their services to provide residential curbside collection. Stony is awarded a residential collection contract for over 8,000 residences.
2018

Stony Mountain Waste acquires both Speedy Waste and RMW Solutions Inc. This acquisition greatly expands operations in Edmonton and Calgary, reaching as far south as Coaldale and Taber.
2018

Stony Mountain Waste and Construction Waste Disposal Inc. amalgamate, halt separate operational entities, and rebrand as Collective Waste Solutions Inc.
2019

Collective Waste Solutions renews an operational contract for an additional five years with one of the major companies operating in the Fort McMurray oilsands after supporting the previous six years of pilot plant and facility construction.
2019

Collective Waste Solutions is awarded a Multi-Family Home contract with one of the largest cities in Alberta.
2021

Collective is awarded a residential contract with one of Alberta's largest cities, bringing the total fleet to over 100 units. The addition of this major contract brings Collective Waste Solutions close to 160,000 residential collection services per week.

We have designed, implemented and continue to audit our COR compliant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program. We are also ISN certified, members of Avetta, and have a Certificate of Recognition from the Alberta Motor Transport Association, all testaments to the hard work, dedication and safety focus of our team and fleet. No matter the project, client or location, we continually work to meet and exceed all municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations in the regions that we operate.
